This week, we’re having a chat with Alys who blogs at Once by Alys. She can be found on Twitter @oncebyalys and talks to us about her passion for activity and functional fashion!

How did you get into blogging?
I began recording different forms of exercise and my blog quickly progressed as an outlet to share my alyslove of fitness and functional fashion. I believe in encouraging physical activity as part of everyday life without it being a chore.

I’m Crossfit level one and Crossfit Kids trained and come from a Garment Technologist background and wanted to share my passion for both exercise and innovative clothing/equipment.

Why do you enjoy blogging?
I love that I get to meet new faces and try many different types of exercise, clothing and sports, all with like minded people. I love sharing my ideas and views and also gaining inspiration from the fitness and blogging communities. I love the freedom it gives me and not being shackled to the 9-5!

What do you enjoy about keeping fit?
The energy levels you keep when you are fit make every minute you train worth while. My husband is also a personal trainer so it’s a great way to spend time with him.

What’s your favourite form of exercise?
Anything that involves water, swimming, surfing, fishing, kayaking. I also love Crossfit/interval training alys2and yoga. I have just started Tennis and Golf lessons so one of these may become my new favorite soon too.

Have you any fitness goals?
I have plans to study Sivananda yoga in India for a month and I would like to complete a full triathlon in the next 12 months, completed one with Kayaking back in 2000 and would love to do it again but with a swim.

What’s your advice for people wanting to get into exercise?
Take a look at oncebyalys.com and see what new exercises I’m trying and try them! It’s might be the fitness that works for you. And make sure you have fun and enjoy it.
